With a population of just over three thousand, Claremorris is located at the junction of the N17 and N60 roads at the bottom of a valley. Claremorris retains its name from Maurice dePrendergast, a Norman who arrived in Ireland in 1169. The town itself wasn�t established until the eighteenth century.
